Property & Maintenance Lead

The ideal person for this role will have a passion to see people develop skills and change their lives for the better. You will need strong people skills, and be able to show patience and understanding whilst maintaining good professional boundaries. You’ll be part of a team, so good communication is key. You’ll also need to be self-motivated and confident working independently. Having a flexible and adaptable attitude is crucial, because the needs of those we work with can change quickly. A good level of emotional resilience is definitely an asset, and a non-judgemental approach to mental health, recovery, and relapse.

In all of our roles, either an Enhanced or basic DBS check and two references will be required before you can start working for us. That’s just part of making sure everyone stays safe.

Maintenance of Sites

Treasure Seekers is a place where people become the best versions of themselves. We do this in a range of different ways, across two sites in Gloucester. The Property and Maintenance Lead is responsible for the upkeep and safe running of our physical facilities.
The ideal candidate for this position will have skills and experience in building and maintenance. We’re looking for an individual who is engaged with the vision of Treasure Seekers, as this is an important quality for all of our staff. They will need to demonstrate a positive and confident demeanour, showing patience and clear boundaries to a team of volunteers. The candidate will be keen to build relationships with other VCSE organisations and with suppliers and contractors. Our Property & Maintenance Lead will work with the Senior Leadership to implement guidance from Health and Safety inspections, ensuring compliance with applicable national and local laws and regulations.

Title of Role Property & Maintenance Lead
Purpose of Role To enable people to become the best version of themselves by maintaining the physical environment of Treasure Seekers buildings. Overseeing the safety and smooth running of facilities, as well as maintaining the standard of each space to high standards cosmetically. Driving the vision, values and culture of Treasure Seekers, ensuring the buildings that we use remain a healthy and stable part of Treasure Seekers.
Main Activities/Tasks
  • To address all necessary maintenance of Treasure Seekers physical sites in Gloucester
  • To work with the Senior Leadership to prioritise maintenance requests from staff
  • To ensure all maintenance equipment is appropriately used, stored and maintained in line with the Health and Safety policy and risk assessment
  • To recruit and oversee the development and training of a team of volunteers and apprentices, including inducting new recruits in line with Treasure Seekers policies and procedures
  • To manage the budget for maintenance costs across the organisation
  • To equip other departments with the necessary basic skills and resources to manage lower level maintenance requests
  • To present a positive confidence to the wider team when responding to emergencies
  • To be proactive and solutions focused
  • To develop the buildings to be flourishing, accessible community venues for people in Gloucestershire
  • Maintain good professional working relationships with relevant external organisations and suppliers and organise work and visits as appropriate
  • Connect with other departments within Treasure Seekers to collaborate and share learning, including referring service users to those departments where possible
  • To attend training and regular professional development
  • To work under the guidance of the Senior Leadership
  • To work within the policies and procedures of Kingfisher Treasure Seekers
  • To promote Kingfisher Treasure Seekers and its work
  • Any other duties as required
